An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join Council’s collaborative and supportive Records Management team for a 12-month maternity leave contract. Commencing in either December 2021 or January 2022, this position requires a motivated and multi-skilled person with the ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.  

This position will enable the successful candidate to make a difference daily by delivering core records management activities to support the full range of Council functions. You will provide records management advice and support to all areas of Council and promote the Records Management function.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out general administrative functions relevant to the work area which are compliant with Council’s policies and procedures.
  • Open, scan, triage and register official corporate correspondence and create workflows to distribute correspondence to Council staff.
  • Physical filing and records storage, including archiving of in-active corporate records across the region.
  • Maintenance of correspondence registers.
  • Use, maintain and provide in-house training on Council’s electronic records management system.
  • Deliver quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


To be successful in this role you must possess the following:

  • Ability to work in an environment with standard work practices and procedures underpinned by statutory requirements relevant to the area.
  • Exercise sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity in the performance of work.
  • Experience in providing effective and quality customer service.
  • Strong data entry and word processing skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Current C class drivers licence.


Training and development to gain specific knowledge and skills relevant to this position will be supported.
