Jun 12, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

Following North Burnett Regional Council’s successful application for funding through Round 2 of the State Government’s ‘Works for Queensland’ (W4Q) program for regional councils to help stimulate growth and improve minor infrastructure across regional Queensland, Council received funding for the ‘NBRC Hall Upgrades’, incorporating an upgrade of the Biggenden Memorial Hall kitchen.

A contract was awarded to carry out alterations to the existing kitchen area, with works commencing Tuesday, 29 May, 2018 and are anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2018.

The works include the alteration of the kitchen to comply with the Food Act 2006, including the provision of new vinyl flooring with coving, replacement of existing wall and ceiling linings, alteration and upgrade of plumbing and electrical services including lighting and power, new storage cupboard and provision of new kitchen equipment including combi oven, gas cooktop, exhaust canopy, fridge, dishwasher and stainless steel preparation benches.

A new gas service is being provided to the gas cooktop to facilitate cooking in the event of future power outages / emergency events.

There may be some disruptions during the construction period with the provision of food preparation facilities being unavailable during this time. Council apologises for any inconvenience these works may cause.

For further information regarding this project please contact Council’s Development Services staff on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) or email Council.

The ‘NBRC Hall Upgrades’ project has been funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland project.
