Jul 10, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

Your sport, your future – Have your say today!

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Rachel Chambers is pleased to present a draft version of the Sport and Recreation Plan 2018-2028 for community feedback.

Mayor Chambers advised that community engagement for the draft plan commenced in October 2017 when Council embarked on a project to plan for the advancement of sport and recreation facilities and activities over the next ten (10) years. The project, made possible through funding received from the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing under the Sport and Recreation Planning Program, was delivered in partnership with South Burnett Regional Council, Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council and local sporting organisations.

“Council engaged specialist consultants, ROSS Planning, to assist with the development of the Plan to better understand how our communities engage in sport and recreational activities and our residents’ dreams and aspirations for the future,” Mayor Chambers said.

Interested residents, clubs, groups and organisations are invited to read and provide feedback on the draft document.  Feedback closes Sunday, 22 July 2018.

“Please take the time to provide feedback on the draft plan.  This is your sport… your future… Have your say today!”

The Draft Sport and Recreation Plan 2018-2028 and Comment Form can be viewed or downloaded from Council’s website.  Alternatively a hard copy of the plan is available for viewing at all of Council’s Customer Service Centres / Libraries.  For further information contact Council’s Sport and Recreation Officer or Council staff on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC), or email Council.
