About the role
The Environmental Health Officer will be responsible for all aspects of Environmental Health to maintain a high standard of health, environment, and regulatory services for the community.
Reporting to the Environment Stream Leader, this role will undertake investigations, audits and detailed assessments to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Council’s Local Laws.
About you
You will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, with tertiary qualifications in Applied Science – Environmental Health, Health Science, or other relevant qualifications in accordance with Environmental Health Australia Guidelines. Council will also consider applicants that are currently studying the previously mentioned tertiary qualifications.
You will be a proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
You will also have initiative and ability to work autonomously, with the flexibility to plan your own work schedule, while also able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team where required.
You will have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, and ability to interpret and apply legislation in the delivery of Environmental Health services.
Working in a rural community will provide a broad range of Environmental Health opportunities and learning experiences.
