Help support the Melbourne Cup Tour video promotion at Mt Perry

Mar 16, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

In celebration of locally sourced gold from Mt Perry in the manufacture of this year’s Lexus Melbourne Cup, North Burnett Region Council in partnership with Mt Rawdon Evolution Mines, Mt Perry Race Club and the Mt Perry community will be submitting an application to have the Lexus Melbourne Cup come to Mt Perry.

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor Cr Rachel Chambers has advised that as part of the application, Mt Rawdon Evolution Mines in conjunction with North Burnett Regional Council would like to showcase the Mt Perry community in a short promotional video, with Evolution Mines providing a drone and operator to capture footage of the Mt Perry area.

The proposed flight path will be from Normanby Lookout, down Heusman Street (main street), turn towards the school, then fly over the Sport & Recreation shed, hospital, towards the race course and finish at the mine.

“We would like to include as many people as possible… so if you are available on Wednesday the 21st of March at 10am please wave to the drone as it flies past.  Please make sure that you either stand out the front of your school/business/house or place yourself along the flight path if you want to be included,” Mayor Chambers said.

If you would like to offer your support to this application please contact Council to see how you can participate.

If you need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact Councils Tourism & Economic Development Team on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) or email Council.
