The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland is replacing the existing timber and concrete bridge over the Boyne River on Mundubbera – Durong Road, about 14km south west of Mundubbera.
Tenders for construction of the new bridge and approaches closed in August 2021. A construction contract is expected to be awarded in November 2021 with works commencing onsite early 2022, conditions permitting.
The $25 million project is jointly funded under the Australian Government’s Roads of Strategic Importance (ROSI) initiative, with the Australian Government contributing $20 million, and the Queensland Government contributing $5 million.
