Media Officer

MEDIA OFFICER

  • Location: the naturally beautiful North Burnett 

 

An exciting opportunity is now available for a motivated and creative Media Officer to join Council’s Media Team. This contract opportunity is available now till October 2023. The Media Officer role is integral to co-ordinating effective internal and external communications for Council and is your chance to produce content that will spark interest and connection with the community.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Creating written content for Council’s media releases, public notices, newsletters, eNews and the website.
  • Assisting with marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with communication protocols.
  • Monitoring Council’s social media presence on Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Responding to AskMedia enquiries from within Council.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. local media).

 

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Superior organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a high volume, dead-line driven environment.
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of computer literacy to assist with efficient production of materials and adaptability with use of business-related systems specific to the organisation.
  • Unrestricted drivers licence – ‘C’ class is essential.
  • Creativity with a flair for customer service!
