Notice of Test – Mundubbera Early Warning Siren – 01-07-17

Saturday 1 July 2017 – 12:00 pm midday

Residents are advised that the bi-annual test of the Mundubbera Warning Station Siren is scheduled for midday on Saturday the 1st of July 2017.

Warning Station siren testing will occur bi-annually and has been scheduled for midday on the 1st of July and 1st of December each year.

The test will comprise:

1) A Voice Announcement in English and Tongan that a test of the system will take place and that the broadcasting of the warning tone is for testing purposes only.

2) A 30 second broadcast of the warning tone.

It is proposed that the test be undertaken three times over a period of 15 minutes.

The Mundubbera early warning system continues Council’s efforts and investments which aim to improve emergency preparedness in our communities.   This work plays an important role in reducing the impact and cost to our community in the event of future disasters.
