Public Notice – Aranbanga Bridge & Scrubby Creek Bridge No 1 Gayndah – Closed

As part of Council’s regular inspection program, on Tuesday, 23 February Council inspected Aranbanga Bridge on Wigton Road and Scrubby Creek Bridge No 1 on Binjour Branch Creek Road.

The findings were as follows: –

• Aranbanga Bridge – unsafe due to failed headstocks. This has resulted in its immediate closure.

                  Did you know?  The headstock is the component that helps to disperse the load of traffic across the piers of the bridge?

• Scrubby Creek Bridge No 1 – unsafe condition due to structural damage. This has resulted in immediate closure.

Both bridges will be closed until further notice once sidetracks are constructed on site.
