North Burnett Regional Council is celebrating Science week from 11 August – 18 August 2018.  Residents and visitors are invited to call into their local library to view a display themed ‘Game Changes for Change Makers.

Science week is national annual celebration to raise awareness and appreciation of science, technology, innovation and engineering and the role these play in the world we live. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions Australian scientists have made as well as the contributions of scientists around the world both past and present.

Science week films

Calling all movie and documentary enthusiasts! From 14 August @ your local library, you can view a range of FREE short documentaries and science-related drama from the SCINEMA International Science Film Festival for the whole month! Presented by Australia’s Science Channel.

SCINEMA is the largest science film festival in the southern hemisphere showcasing the best in science cinema from around the world. SCINEMA is a celebration of the power of the moving image to inspire the young, satisfy the curious, explain the baffling and ask the impossible.
