The new North Burnett Emergency Management Dashboard to be launched during Get Ready Week!

Oct 5, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

Get Ready Week is 8 – 14 October

The latest emergency and disaster advice, information and updates are now just a click away thanks to the launch of the North Burnett Emergency Management Dashboard.  The Emergency Management Dashboard provides residents with a single point of reference to keep up to date with vital information before, during and after a disaster or emergency event.

North Burnett Regional Council Mayor, Cr Rachel Chambers advised that the new dashboard, which can be accessed via Council’s website www.northburnett.qld.gov.au from Monday, 8 October, brings together all the information you need to help you and your family make the best decisions during an emergency situation. The dashboard, which can be bookmarked to your smart device, has been designed to be user-friendly, adaptable to different devices and readily available without the need for a subscription, log-in or app download.

“You no longer need to visit multiple websites and social media pages to find information during an emergency, as it can now be accessed directly from the dashboard,” Mayor Chambers said.

Examples of information found on the dashboard includes important updates from the Local Disaster Coordination Centre, power outages from Ergon Energy, fire incidents and danger ratings from Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, road closures and conditions from Council and Department of Transport and Main Roads, weather warnings, river height and rainfall data from the Bureau of Meteorology, and social media updates from Council, emergency service agencies and other support services

“Outside of emergency situations the dashboard will provide residents with up to date information on road closures and works, as well as information on how you can better prepare yourself and your family before an emergency situation arises.”

Mayor Chambers said, “The launch of the new North Burnett Emergency Management Dashboard has been timed to coincide with Get Ready Week from 8-14 October 2018.  I encourage all residents and visitors to the region to go online and check out this exciting new resource.”

The Emergency Management Dashboard was developed by the North Burnett Local Disaster Management Group and software developer QIT Plus and funded through a North Burnett Regional Council Capital Works budget.
