2022 Australia Day

Jan 18, 2022 | Front Page Feature, Media Releases

Reflect. Respect. Celebrate. We’re all part of the story.

Australia Day is a time for all Australians to come together to reflect on the past, present and future, respect one another and celebrate each other’s achievements.

“Over the past year our region has faced drought, floods and the coronavirus pandemic. Australia Day 2022 presents us with a welcome opportunity to reflect on our recent challenges, respect those who put others before themselves and celebrate our region’s resilience and unity,” Acting Mayor Robbie Radel said.

Council invites members of our communities to join in the celebrations on Wednesday, 26 January 2022. Come along and enjoy an Aussie breakfast and congratulate our Australia Day Award recipients.

“Council has partnered with local community groups to put on these great events throughout the region. Bring your family, grab your friends and neighbours and help celebrate what makes our nation great!  Council is pleased to announce that we will be welcoming our newest citizens as part of the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony in Eidsvold this year,” Cr Radel said.

With the ever changing COVID environment, these events will have COVID safe practices in place and all be held outdoors. Please see the Event Details flyer attached for a full list of Australia Day events taking place in the North Burnett.

This Australia Day, gather with friends, family, and community to reflect, respect and celebrate.
