Council introduces new meeting cycle

Aug 20, 2018 | Front Page Feature, News

At the General Meeting held Wednesday, 15 August 2018, North Burnett Regional Council resolved to abolish its two Standing Committees (Policy and Planning Standing Committee and Technical Services Standing Committee) and introduce a three week General Meeting cycle.

It is envisaged that the new meeting cycle will provide for a more reasonable time period between Council meetings and reduce delays with Council’s decision making process.

General Meetings commence 9am.  The dates and venues for Council’s General Meetings for the remainder of 2018 are listed below:

Council’s meetings are held at various North Burnett locations on a rotational basis and are attended by Councillors, along with the Chief Executive Officer, and Executive staff.  Staff may join the meetings from time to time to provide reports of various projects that are being undertaken.

Council welcomes the attendance of the general public in the gallery to the open portions of General Meetings. Please report to the administration centre of the town the meeting is being held in, and ask to be directed to the meeting.

All members of the public are welcome to attend Council’s Public Question Time, held during Council’s General Meeting from 9:30am to 10:30am. This is an opportunity to bring forth any items that you would like your Councillors to address.  Prior indication of your question is appreciated. Please phone 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) to discuss with an Executive Services staff member or email Council.
