Bon Accord Bridge near Gayndah sustained significant damage in the January flooding event resulting in its closure.

Structural engineers completed the initial assessments on the damaged superstructure and deemed to it be unsafe for use.

Our Civil Works team were able to present several options to Council, including the option that was selected. Unfortunately, due to the significant damage sustained there are no immediate solutions to repairing or replacing this bridge.

Council will leave the bridge closed and current detour in place whilst a full hydrology assessment and non-destructive testing on the concrete substructure takes place. Having this full information will allow Council and the QRA to make a fully informed decision as to what the best value for money and long-term resilience options are.

Currently road users are detouring via Wetheron Road, this will continue until further notice.
