Current Emergency Management Information

Council is pleased to report that significant progress has been made on the Bon Accord Bridge refurbishment, with the contractor now completing the final ten spans.

Although heavy rainfall in the Barambah Creek catchment in early August temporarily raised water levels at the bridge site and caused delays, the construction team has resumed work on the remaining spans as conditions have improved. Final tensioning and commissioning are scheduled for the first week of September.

In addition to the ongoing bridge work, a recent site tender meeting for Stage 2 of the approach works attracted strong interest from contractors. The evaluation team has completed its review of submissions and has selected a preferred contractor. Stage 2 will include concrete batter protection, signage and line-marking, clearing, and the installation of the bridge approach slabs.

Council extends its gratitude to the community for their patience and understanding during the bridge closure. We are working closely with the project team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality refurbished bridge.
