Following an incident on the Bruce Highway, Council has been notified that a diversion will be in place through parts of the North Burnett. This includes parts of the Isis and Burnett Highways and will likely increase the volume of traffic in the region, including heavy vehicles.
At this stage, the detours are as follows (subject to change):
- South bound traffic from Rockhampton:
- Light and heavy vehicles will be detoured at Calliope.
- Heavy vehicles will be directed through to Biloela.
- North bound traffic from Maryborough:
- Light vehicle traffic will be detoured at Gin Gin via Mount Perry
- Heavy vehicle traffic will be detoured at Childers via Biggenden
Signage will be in place to direct traffic as appropriate. The latest updates on road closures can be found on https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/
Residents are reminded to remain vigilant when travelling on the roads, particularly with the increased traffic flows.
