From Monday, 31 January 2022, the Eidsvold, Mt Perry and Biggenden Customer Service and Library Centres will open Monday to Friday from 10 am – 2 pm.
“The difficult decision to reduce operating hours was made in line with Council’s Service Delivery Review. These hours reflect the site’s most visited times from statistics, with customers still able to access Council’s full range of services during peak visiting times,” Acting Mayor Robbie Radel said.
“By adjusting weekday operating hours in these locations, Council stands to save over $1.7 million of ratepayers funds over ten years, whilst continuing to maintain an appropriate level of service to all of our communities.”
Cr Radel warns, “with the current pandemic situation, fluctuation to services across all centres could be experienced. However, we will be working hard to have systems in place to avoid disruption where possible”.
Council will continue to offer the same range of council services at all centres, providing access for face-to-face payments for rates and dog registrations, council information and library services. Council’s contact centre will continue to operate from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm daily, with friendly council staff available to answer questions, take bookings and payments, they can even reserve a library book for you! Our After-Hours service also remains, so you will still be able to contact Council 24/7 in case of an emergency.
“To accommodate the new hours of operation and avoid redundancies for our existing staff Council’s Customer Experience and Communities team is recruiting several roles. “We owe it to our communities to see these positions filled by enthusiastic, community-minded people who understand the unique make-up of the people of the North Burnett. No specific experience is required; however, a passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience every time and a desire to live and work in the community is our goal,” Cr Radel encouraged.
Casual, part-time (to suit school hours), and full time career opportunities are available to view on our website www.northburnett.qld.gov.au/careers. We urge anyone interested in a career in customer service and libraries to apply before the positions close at 5 pm, Friday 14 January. Training is available for successful applicants who bring a strong customer service ethos, and you will be joining a dedicated community-focused team.
