Community Update: Footbridge Eidsvold

Jun 26, 2019 | Front Page Feature, News

Released earlier this month, the Queensland Budget 2019-20 (https://budget.qld.gov.au/) includes an allocation to upgrade the Harkness Walkway Bridge in Eidsvold in the new financial year.

The walkway will reinstate direct and safe pedestrian and bicycle access to the Eidsvold Showgrounds and RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre to the Eidsvold central business district.

At the moment, Council is in the process of procuring suitably qualified consultants to carry out the necessary design work for the bridge, including an upgrade to the handrail to suit a shared cycleway. The next step is to provide the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) the final design work which will be incorporated into a contract for delivery.

To stay up to date with this project, be sure to follow Council on social media @NorthBurnettRC.

For any enquiries, please contact Council’s works department on 1300 696 272 (1300 MY NBRC) or email Council.
