Council’s  Environment Team have engaged a private contractor, Envirocom to conduct a waste audit on our kerbside bins.  The study is being completed to gather data which will assist in determining the volumes and types of waste generated by households across the region. The aim of the waste audit is to help Council expand recycling and education opportunities throughout the North Burnett, to reduce waste to landfill.

There are two parts to the waste audit. The first stage will be undertaken on Monday 10 October 2022 in Gayndah, and Tuesday 11 October 2022 in Mundubbera. Envirocom staff will be traveling throughout Gayndah and Mundubbera, stopping outside your home to check bins presented for collection, before our garbage truck arrives. The audit will be looking at capacity and fullness.

The second part is the waste sorting/classifying process, that will be completed at the Mundubbera Waste Facility.

If you have any questions regarding the auditing process, please don’t hesitate to contact Council’s Environment Team on 1300 696 272 or email admin@nothburnett.qld.gov.au
