Current Emergency Management Information
Council is currently engaged in hazard reduction burns throughout the region to mitigate the risk of bushfires during the fire season. A hazard reduction burn has been scheduled at Dallarnil on Saturday 10 August 2024from 1pm (weather permitting) and is expected to last approximately one day.

Due to the nature of these operations, certain access points, including roads, may be temporarily closed within the hazard reduction burn-controlled zone.

What you should do:
– Stay inside and close windows and doors.
– Keep respiratory medication close by.
– Avoid driving through smoke if you can.
– Watch out for firefighters working in the area.
– Do not fly drones around the fire. Drones affect air operations.

Impacts:
– Smoke can make it hard for some people to breathe.
– Smoke can make it hard to see when you are driving.
– No properties are at risk.
