Craig Matheson
Chief Executive Officer
Craig brings to this role over thirty-five years’ experience in public policy, executive leadership and corporate governance roles in state and local government.
Since 2010, Craig has led the reform of governance, strategic policy and the economic development functions, programs, and services at the Sunshine Coast Council. His notable achievements include the development of the transformative Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy 2013-2033; new integrity and corporate planning and governance frameworks; and playing a key leadership role in shaping significant regional infrastructure investments including the Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion project, the Sunshine Coast International Broadband Cable Network and the development of the new city centre in Maroochydore.
Prior to 2010, Craig held senior executive roles in the Queensland Government, with responsibility for implementing reforms to the local government system, sport and recreation services and strategic policy and corporate governance roles in central agencies and the State’s first innovation and information economy portfolio. During this time, Craig led major organisational change initiatives, legislative and structural reform programs and managed a number of public – private sector collaborations that delivered key infrastructure, program and service opportunities in a number of communities across Queensland.
Craig has formal qualifications in Business – Management.
Anna Scott
General Manager Works
Anna commenced with Council in July 2022 as the General Manager Works.
She brings with her over 8 years experience in senior leadership positions in local government, predominantly in rural and regional environments. Prior to joining local government, Anna had spent over 20 years in the asset infrastructure space, with various roles in the consulting engineering, water utilities and large civil construction sectors.
