Council staff were saddened to find upon returning from the weekend that the three flagpole ropes have gone missing from the poles in front of the Gayndah Community Hall.

“Flying flags are a symbol of our pride and welcoming intentions to residents and visitors in the region,” said Mayor Hotz.

“It is disappointing that our flagpoles have been disrespected and it will take time before our flags fly again. Once the new ropes arrive, we will need to engage a cherry picker to safely re-install the ropes. Unfortunately, these senseless acts divert Council’s resources from where they are otherwise needed.”

If anyone may be aware of what happened to the ropes, please get in contact with Council.
