Current Emergency Management Information

North Burnett Regional Council residents are being reminded to pay their overdue dog registration fees for 2024/25.

Registering and microchipping your animals is an essential part of responsible pet ownership. It is important to register your pets so if they are lost, stolen or stray, they can be returned home safely.

While most pet owners have done the right thing and renewed their pet registration by 30 September 2024, there are still a number that are outstanding.

Failure to pay your dog registration renewal is an offence in accordance with section 57(2)(b) of the Animal Management (cats and dogs) Act 2008. The Penalty Infringement Notice amount is $322.60, per dog. Owners are urged to pay their registration now before Penalty Infringement Notices are issued.

Payments can be made by the following methods:

  • In person at a Council Customer Service Office
  • Phone Call our Contact Centre 1300 696 272
  • Online Council Website select Payments and Online Services

If you haven’t received your renewal notice, your dog’s details have changed or you no longer own your dog, please contact Council as soon as possible to update your details or cancel your pet’s registration.

Council’s Compliance Team would like to thank those who have paid their dog registration renewals and submitted new registrations for their furry friends.
