Mundubbera Blueberry Festival
The Mundubbera Blueberry Festival will take place on Friday, 27 and Saturday, 28 September 2024. This lively event will bring the community together to celebrate all things blueberry with delicious food, live music, and plenty of fun activities. With its festive atmosphere, the Mundubbera Blueberry Festival promises a fun and memorable experience for everyone. Mobile Black Spot Program – Community Survey
The Mobile Black Spot Program, an Australian Government initiative, aims to improve mobile coverage and competition nationwide. With over $1 billion invested and 1,400 new base stations constructed across Australia, the North Burnett region has benefited from this program.
Grosvenor is conducting an evaluation on behalf of the Australian Government to assess the program’s effectiveness and explore future improvements. Residents are encouraged to participate in the community survey on mobile phone coverage, which is vital for our local industries and road safety. North Burnett Pools open for the swimming season
With the arrival of Spring, the swimming season kicks off at the North Burnett’s five pools. The pools in Biggenden, Eidsvold and Monto pools reopened on 23 September 2024. Gayndah will follow on 25 September 2024, and Mundubbera will reopen on 30 September 2024. North Burnett Community and Careers Expo
The North Burnett Community and Careers Expo will be held on Wednesday, 2 October 2024, at the Monto Community Hall. This is an excellent opportunity for school students and job seekers to connect with local businesses, explore career pathways and apply for current vacancies. Tendering for Business Workshop – Department of State Development
The Department of State Development is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, 26 September 2024, aimed at helping business owners improve their bids for tenders in both the government and private sectors. North Burnett Flood Resilience Projects – Community Engagement Sessions
Council invites residents, community groups, and businesses to share their flood experiences at upcoming engagement sessions in October. These sessions, held in conjunction with the Big Map Exercise by the Red Earth Community Foundation and Disaster Relief Australia, will inform the Burnett Rive and Tributaries Flood Study and North Burnett Community Flood Action Plans. Your input will help us better understand flood behaviour and improve resilience across the region.
