Vietnam Veterans’ Day
On the 18th of August 2022, RSL Sub-branches held commemorative services for Vietnam Veteran’s Day throughout the region, recognising the service and sacrifice of our Vietnam Veterans.
The 18th of August 2022 also marked the 56th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, one of the fiercest battles of the war. A wreath was laid in memory of those who fell in the battle.
Biggenden Charity Campdraft
Congratulations to the Biggenden Charity Campdraft committee who have once again held a successful campdraft and rodeo raising funds for LifeFlight, Cancer Council of Australia and the Leukemia Foundation over the weekend. The two-day event covered a full campdraft and rodeo program as well as night-time entertainment, children’s entertainment, and market stalls.
Sale of Land for Overdue Rates
Council is continuing the process to recover overdue rates for 21 properties. This process has now entered the next phase with a notice of the intention to sell these properties advertisement. This notice stipulates that unless all overdue rates and expenses of the sale owing in relation to this land (full scheduled available on our website) are sooner paid, the properties will be sold by public auction at 9am on Tuesday, 6 September at the Gayndah Community Hall.
