Big Spring Clean
This October we are partnering with Snap Send Solve in the Big Spring Clean campaign. Snappers are encouraged to help freshen up their neighbourhood as we head into the warmer months with a focus on illegal dumping. Dumped rubbish is unsightly, threatens our environment, endangers wildlife and may harm public health. Report it to us with Snap Send Solve so we can investigate. Snap Send Solve have a campaign where reporting dumped rubbish with the app will place you in the draw to win $250 for you and $250 for a charity you support. Download the Snap Send Solve app and start Snapping: https://onelink.to/bigspringclean. Snap Send Solve is for general reporting of non-urgent issues, always call 1300 696 272 for urgent Council assistance.

Snake Awareness
With the recent hot weather, snakes are on the move in search of food, water and warmth. If you encounter a snake, do not panic. Back away to a safe distance and allow the snake to move away, they often want to escape when disturbed. All snakes are protected under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and it is an offence to kill, injure or take snakes from the wild. For additional information, the Queensland Government have developed a website full of useful information: https://environment.des.qld.gov.au/wildlife/animals/living-with/snakes
