With over 20 years’ experience at Chief Executive and Senior Executive roles in both Local and State Governments, Ms Margot Stork will bring a contemporary approach to the leadership of our organisation with substantial competencies in strategic and operational management.

Mayor, Cr Les Hotz explained, the recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer is considered one of the biggest responsibilities of Council. However, working with Leading Roles, we were able to define the specific skills and strengths desired for the new CEO which were financial knowledge, stakeholder engagement and workforce leadership.

Councillors interviewed six shortlisted candidates, with the preferred applicant for the CEO position being agreed by Councillors to be Ms Margot Stork.

“We needed to find someone who not only had the required government, financial and management skill sets, but someone who was a great communicator.  Ms Stork displayed a warm and engaging personality and has demonstrated high standards of professional ethics,” Mayor Hotz said.

Ms Stork has been appointed by Council under a four-year employment contract with a proposed commencement date of Monday, 23 May 2022.
