Monitoring Mozzies Mt Perry & Mundubbera
North Burnett Regional Council and Queensland Health are working together to deliver a Rapid Surveillance of Vector Presence (RSVP) Program. This program has now commenced in Mount Perry and is scheduled to begin in March in Mundubbera.
The aim of this program is to collate data on the presence of the Aedes aegypti Mosquito (Vector) in both of these towns.
The trapping program consists of capturing mosquito eggs followed by an analysis that is undertaken at an accredited Queensland Health laboratory.
Council officers will be undertaking the trapping of the Mosquitoes through until June 2020. Specific sites will be targeted to ensure the trapping program is a success.
