Unfortunately, Council has made the difficult decision to postpone the Australia Day events scheduled across the region on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.
This decision was made after completing an extensive risk assessment.
“Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, the risk community members, award recipients, and Council Staff, is too great,” Acting Mayor Robbie Radel said.
“Many, many hours of planning go into creating and hosting six individual Australia Day events throughout our region, and it is disappointing to have to call these events off, but we believe it is the right call for the current situation.”
Council will review options to reschedule Award Ceremonies for participants over the coming weeks.
