The Queensland Government has announced that Paradise Dam will be returned to its original full supply height.
The Mayor and Interim General Manager Works attended the Paradise Dam Reference Group Meeting facilitated by Sunwater on 10 November 2022. At the meeting, the Terms of Reference were ratified and were subsequently published on the Sunwater website and several updates on the Paradise Dam Improvement Project were provided.
Members of the reference group requested a timeline for upcoming activities and Sunwater has subsequently provided two fact sheets, providing relevant information regarding the environmental assessment and planning approval process and the required work for the Dam Improvement Project. Early works are expected to commence in 2023 and major construction activities are anticipated to commence in 2024.
Sunwater will continue to share information with Council members of the Reference Group, which Council will also share with the wider community via the Mayor’s Update, public notices and on Facebook. Information is also regularly shared on the Sunwater website and also on their Facebook page.
