Attention Biggenden residents. Council has been advised that Sunwater will conduct audible or ‘live’ testing of Paradise Dam’s emergency sirens on Wednesday 9 October 2024 between 10.00 am – 12.00 noon at the following locations:
The siren locations are:
Siren located at Paradise Dam
Siren located approximately 7.5km downstream of Paradise Dam.
The tests will last up to three minutes. The siren will sound along with voice announcements of ‘THIS IS ONLY A TEST’. The sirens may be heard in the surrounding areas however, this is subject to other variables which may influence where the sound travels.
Sunwater recommends residents secure their pets and check in with neighbours to ensure they know the tests are being conducted.
No action is required by the community during the tests.
