Council is pleased to advise that it will be undertaking repairs to the state-controlled section of Capper Street, Gayndah, which is expected to include repairs to the damaged pavement on both sides of the road near the pharmacy, around the pedestrian islands within the CBD. To reduce impacts on local businesses and the community, the work is currently scheduled to occur on Sunday, 15 September 2024, weather permitting.
Due to the location and extent of the works, the repairs will require the closure of both east and west bound traffic within the CBD, and a detour will be in place via Warton Street, Anzac Parade, and Pineapple Street. Traffic signage will be in place during the closure, and while footpaths are expected to remain open, pedestrian access may be limited around the worksite.
During the closure, motorists are asked to please avoid the area where possible and observe any signage that may be in place.
Council thanks motorists and residents for their patience during this work and apologise for any inconvenience that may be experienced.
