Council recently welcomed back Mr Ray Burton to the region as interim Chief Executive Officer.
During his time with Council, Mr Burton will support Councillors through the Mayoral by-election process and the recruitment of the new Chief Executive Officer.
“I aim to provide a smooth transition for our staff, Councillors, new Mayor, new CEO and community,” Mr Burton said.
At its recent Special Meeting, Council appointed Leading Roles to assist it in recruiting its new CEO.
“A broad advertising and search campaign has commenced, with Council expecting a comprehensive initial longlist of applications by the end of February. From there, Council will shortlist and undertake formal interviews.
Council is explicitly looking for someone who will capitalise on its investments in strategy, planning, and structural change, demonstrating a high level of leadership and communication within the workforce and the community.
“In the meantime, it is business as usual with our focus on delivering essential services for our communities”, Ray Burton said.
