Australia Day is a time for all Australians to reflect, respect and celebrate. In suburbs and towns around the nation, Australians will come together on Australia Day to reflect on the past and present, respect one another and celebrate the strength and spirit of their local communities.
On Australia Day, we celebrate being part of a proud, multicultural nation that values the contribution of each and every citizen. It is a day where we can reflect on the past, present and future.
“Over the past year our region has faced drought, floods, the coronavirus pandemic and personal tragedies that have seen communities rally together and support one another. Australia Day 2023 presents us with a welcome opportunity to reflect on our recent challenges, appreciate those who put others before themselves and celebrate our region’s resilience and unity,” Mayor Les Hotz said.
Council looks forward to hosting our first Regional Australia Day event in Eidsvold. We have partnered with community groups and businesses to host this event. Celebrations in the future will give each of our main towns the opportunity to host the regional event.
“We encourage and extend a warm welcome to all community members and visitors from across our region to come together to reflect, respect and celebrate with us in Eidsvold on Australia Day,” Mayor Les Hotz said.
Come along and enjoy a free Aussie breakfast and congratulate our Australia Day Award recipients. We will also be welcoming our newest citizens as part of the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony.
