Council commenced work on the Abercorn and Barram Road intersections on Tuesday, 3 May 2022. This project is expected to take approximately 8-10 weeks to complete. Due to recent weather events, the following restrictions have been placed on Abercorn Road.
- No trucks.
- 6 tonne load limits apply.
- Buses excepted.
Detours remain in place with dual lanes in both directions alongside both sections of Abercorn Road. Traffic will be reduced to a maximum of 60km per hour through these sections while works are under construction. Barram Road remains closed until further notice.
Council appreciates the frustration which the detour creates for drivers and is endeavouring to ensure the safety of residents and road users.
