Building Grazing Business Resilience – Nanango Services Club
Nanango Services ClubDrought is a reality for primary producers. Come and learn about the new drought preparedness assistance and discuss drought management ideas along with fellow producers at this free workshop! As part of Queensland’s drought reform, Drought Preparedness Grants offer up to $50,000 as a co-contribution grant to assist primary producers undertake on-farm capital improvements that will improve the drought preparedness of their property. To access these grants and other drought support measures including no and low interest loans, producers will need to have a Farm Business Resilience Plan. To assist producers with this, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Queensland (DAF), Rural Solutions Queensland Inc (RSQ) and Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) invite you to a workshop to learn more about the new policy, how to apply and to discuss drought management ideas for adoption and funding.Media Contact 1300 696 272 | media@northburnett.qld.gov.au

Biggenden – National Simultaneous Storytime
Biggenden Library 47 Edward Street, Biggenden, QLD, AustraliaJoin us for the event of the year between 22-24 May. National Simultaneous Storytime is back and the countdown is on! Come along to your local Library to experience the magic of Storytime, reading this year's book - ‘The Speedy Sloth' by Rebecca Young & Heath McKenzie - an inspiring story about Spike, a determined sloth who shows us that being a winner means doing your best! It's the perfect way to ignite your child’s love for books and learning. Along with the story, there will be your favourite songs, rhymes, activities and even a colouring competition to keep you and your little ones entertained. This session is best suited for children under 6 years and their parents and caregivers. National Simultaneous Storytime, now in its 23rd year, brings children together in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres and homes around the country to read an Australian picture book at the same time (in our case across 3 days!). In 2022, over 2.18 million participants came together at 59,000 locations! It a vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy.
