Booking a BUS ticket is easy!

You can book online on Council’s website, over the phone on 1300 696 272 or by visiting one of Council’s Customer Service & Library Centre’s.

Important booking information

Please be at your pickup bus stop location at least 10 minutes prior to departure.

Our drivers have a strict scheduled timetable, so we are unable to call you if you are not at your pickup location when the bus is scheduled to depart cool

Each passenger can bring one suitcase up to 20 kilos on board.

As Queensland is prone to weather events, we require your phone number (preferably a mobile) so we can contact you if a service has been held up, needs to depart early or has to be cancelled altogether due to a flood event.

 

Here’s some helpful information you need to know about travelling on our service

Have your cuppa and a bite to eat before travel with us, as only water is permitted to be consumed on our service.

We love having families join us onboard and understand that on occasions your Child/teenager may need to travel unaccompanied.  Teenagers aged between 12- 15 years (inclusive) of age can travel without you, however you are required to complete the Unccompanied Child Form and return it to us at least 2 business days prior to travel. You can email it to admin@northburnett.qld.gov.au or pop into your local Customer Service & Library Centre to complete the form.

Bubs and toddlers are welcome to travel on the lap of a responsible carer. If you wish to bring a child safety seat onboard for your little one to be restrained while travelling you can, however we cannot guarantee it will fit and you will need to supply your own extension strap to ensure enough length to reach the anchor point available.

If you’re heading away for a few days, that’s no trouble. Each passenger can bring one suitcase up to 20 kilos on board.

For the comfort and health of our drivers and passengers travelling, please remember that smoking/vaping is prohibited on our bus service.

Not for Profit Information

The North Burnett Transport Service is giving not-for-profit organisations within the North Burnett the opportunity to access bus transport at minimal to no cost. The sponsorship will include an accredited driver in one of Council’s 9 or 18 seater air-conditioned buses with wheelchair access. Travel dates must fall between Tuesday, 1 March and Tuesday, 28 June 2023 Eligible applications could include:

  • A courtesy bus for a local community event to ensure the safe transport of local residents to and from the event;
  • Support the regions youth to travel to attend sporting or cultural events;
  • Transport our senior residents to another town to enjoy a social outing;
  • And much more!

Early applications are invited and should be received no later than two weeks before the travel date. Each application will be assessed on driver and coach availability, not-for-profit status and benefit to North Burnett region and its residents.
